Last time we had more than 2" of snow on ground for Thanksgiving was in 1989. BDR got 6.1"

In fact, Islip got more snow than BDR that Thanksgiving. It was the coldest Thanksgiving for BDR as we.

best travel time will be Wednesday morning before 11am or Thursday morning.

The famous "pink" line. Our biggest snowfalls come with coastal storms but its the only setup where the track has to be perfect for it.

Was on the fence about dropping the boat off today or not at the marina that will take it out. Was going to try and hold off till Wed morning. I guess today was the right call, they'll get it out tomorrow and wrapped up on Tuesday. Fun stuff!!

Bring on 8-12!

Didn't we get a few (4-6) inches on Thanksgiving morning in 2002?

It actually fell the day before overnight. 1am to 10am at BDR. but you're right, we did have snow on the ground Thanksgiving day in 2002.

It was a clear cold day then so snow stuck around for Thanksgiving day..

Nice graphic here. You can see what the latest Euro did to bring us rain after initial snow.

Latest GFS00z holds ground for snowstorm.

And its not a moisture starved system! That's why forecasters are concerned for travel. If it was showing 1/4" liquid than its easy to just say some light snow. But there's an inch involved. So if its al snow that's a warning level snowstorm.

D.C: 1.07"
Philly: 1.04"
NYC: 1.07"
Danbury: 1.00"
Bridgeport: 1.09"
Islip: 1.24"
Boston: 1.05"
Windsor Locks: 0.93"
Albany: 0.33"

Here's the map for Wednesday 4pm. That's some heavy snows falling near the coast.

Try to travel Tuesday or Thursday morning! Even rain would set delays Wednesday.

Yup, here we go. That rain run of the Euro yesterday was off. It's back to a snowstorm with change to rain at coast.

Average max temp for BDR is 50 degrees so it's always amazing to see snow falling during the day in November..

EURO00z qpf amounts: Can you imagine if these amounts fall and all this is snow??? Multiple it by 8 to get an idea for snow totals.

Bridgeport: 1.53"
Windsor Locks: 1.39"
Danbury: 1.26"
Groton: 2.19"

Philly 1.19"
NYC: 1.24"
Albany: 1.25"
Providence: 2.23"
Boston: 2.10"
