I wouldn't say "heavily" in NYC. Moderate Flurries here in midtown (Park/50s).

Per OKX (I guess this is the "calm before the storm" ):

Some totals so far as of 1 pm: NYC: 0.5", LGA: 0.3", JFK: 0.3", EWR: 0.5", BDR: 0.1", and ISP: 0.5"

Snowing moderately in Nassau Co -- huge flakes and wind is blowing. I must say the flakes are quite larger than I expected; some are dime size. Again, in Garden City.

JP03 said it.... Nows the time to consider getting home. That band over Long Island got wider and not moving much. Moisture is starting to feed in

Keep those totals coming. Good luck measuring in the morning. lol

Clean an open area out now. Don't measure on the current snowpack. Put a piece of plywood on top of it if you have to. get an average from a few areas around you

FYI... Euro holds steady for history in NYC/area.

Think about the roofs if you see more than 2 feet up there. Since it's powder stuff consider cleaning it before any melting in coming days. FLUFF STUFF.,. EASY to clean...but a ton of it.
