Ive been hearing multiple sources from Norwalk that a new regional shopping center is being built on the 95/7 site. Any news on that project and if it will break ground?

In regards to the New Haven Coliseum Redevelopment, when will this start construction? The governor had a speech around the election time about it being one step forward towards it becoming a reality but it since then been quiet. Many sources mentioned that it could break ground this summer. Any new updates since?

Thanks

Major projects like these take a long to time finance, design and to go through the multiple approval process. The Norwalk project is part of a redevelopment process that takes even longer than the normal process. You should hear more on it in the coming months.

As for New Haven, things have been quiet since the Governor announced state funding for the second phase of the Route 34/Downtown Crossing project back in October. That phase will reconnect the 2 sections of Orange Street north and south of Route 34 which the developer, Live Work Learn Play, demanded to begin the project. Supposedly a major hotel developer (rumored to be Stamford based Starwood) is very interested in building a luxury hotel on the site. I would hope to hear more on this project in the coming months as well. Jay

Nothing has been approved or announced yet. They may move some dirt around but I doubt any real construction will start since there is no formal approved project yet. Jay
