As some of you know, I am still looking and hoping to find a car dealer in CT to work in. 2 prospects came up and both are an hour away. Very frustrating.......there are literally 5 big Honda dealers in my area and they have a full house in the parts dept at the moment. Years ago it was much easier to find something.
Anyway........this is probably too far but how would a commute to Enfield be from my area? Don't know anything about the area.
If you took the 8 to 84 to 91 route- I think it wouldn't be too bad. Long? Sure. But not overly overly stressful. Then again- I detest 95 and 15 so I'll always do anything to avoid those areas. If you don't have a lot of options and need a job now- and are ready for 2+ hours a day in the car- then I'd say go for it. There are certainly worst commutes in CT in terms of stress, traffic, etc. so you're not too bad there IMO
Depends on the time of day. Not sure Hartford is too bad going north in the morning. I used to go to East Windsor from Rt 2 and that was my only backlog - Rt 2 into Hartford. 91 was rarely backed up north of Hartford.
That would be a horrible commute. You would have been a lot better off with the Simsbury job. The problem would be getting through Hartford. It would be a nightmare. Without traffic this would be well over an hour commute. With traffic you could approach 90 minutes to 2 hours. Definitely not good. Jay.
Im going to hold out until a dealer in my area is hiring. I'm really over doing a 60 mile commute.
Good idea. Hartford traffic is terrible during rush hour and you'll also hit plenty of traffic on 15 near the tunnel coming home. As Jay said, the commute without traffic is very long. With traffic, it will likely take you double the time. It will probably be worse than what you're doing now.
