I always thought Bridgeport's motto was "the armpit of Connecticut."

Why not the armpit of New England?

I don't think there is anything worse in the other New England states.

New Bedford, Lawrence, and Fall River are terrible and arguably worse than Bridgeport as well.

I went to New Britain High and I always thought Hard Hittin' was related to the football team. Back in the early 2000's we were untouchable.

Plus, New Britain is quite run down so hard hittin' might represent getting mugged. JK
