I just heard that EZ pass works in virtually all east coast cities and one pass can be used for all family cars.

Where should I purchase EZ pass from?

I understand CT does not have EZ pass plan.

We mostly drive to NYC airports most frequently. Sometimes we drive to Boston as well. Our usage is probably about 4 to 5 times a year.

Thanks

We originally had one from NJ, but later got one from Mass because they had no ongoing monthly fees associated with having an EZ Pass, unlike NJ.

NYC toll and bridges have discounts for. EZ pass. Will Mass EZ pass get those discounts in NYC?

I recommend going with the New York EZPass. I've had them for going on 9 years now. No monthly fees, of course, plus you get a 5% discount when using it anywhere in the state of NY. To my knowledge, there is no similar privilege when using the Mass EZPass within Mass.

If you want discounts on NY tolls, you have to get a NY-issued EZ Pass.

Where to buy Transponder to get best deal? It appears that each state charge different price on transponders

No charge to order the NY one. Just go online to their web page. Provide a credit card number for automatic replenishment...carefree!

Do they charge you before you use it, or as you use it? That and the monthly fee was why I never got one when I looked into the NJ back in 2008.
