If its anything like Nashville metro where I lived 17 years, there is also better food in other ways. I still miss Catfish and Angus Beef from there, which IMO were both better, mainly closer to the source.

Italian is better in Northeast. I am not big on French or Greek food.

That movie “Green Book” illustrates the bad Italian food in Charlotte at that time. About the affluent African American musician in the Jim Crow era who went against the grain to perform concerts in unsafe for minorities parts of the South In 1950s. His limo driver was a somewhat punkish New York Italian Godfather boss type. He knew good Italian his own family restaurant.

Escorting his musician at a performance party down in Charlotte, NC he tried the Italian cocktail food and spit it out, lol.

But .....i have to think there’s a #1 best Italian restaurant in Charlotte or Raleigh North Carolina and it’s as good as anything because Dallas Texas for instance has a small number of amazing Italian restaurants.

All I'm going to say is after the proposals of tolls, consolidation of schools, pensions talks impacting schools, and the hundreds of other tax proposals I predict Connecticut may see the highest migration out of the state over the next few years.

And the sad thing is, the same elected officials will continue to hold positions of power in office, they will continue to put identity politics ahead of fiscal matters, and they will continue to have a dismissive attitude towards the public when citizens address unjustifiably high taxes by saying, "Well, YOU should feel lucky to be here, and if not, you can always move". And people are doing just that, and it's not going to stop anytime soon. They honestly think this state is still the envy of the nation, and it's not.

I suspect you are correct. We need a reduced (in real $, not % of increase) cost of government. We need to lower our rank of SALT collection per capita.

Instead we are validating our horrific business ranking relative to other states.

I hope not... it really is a beautiful state, but they make it harder to justify all the reasons one would want to stay or move in.
