Once you get east of New Haven and Branford, 95 is 2 lanes each way almost all the way to the border, except for where Route 9 ends in Old Saybrook and Old Lyme - to accommodate Rocky Neck traffic. Then, you get accidents because the highway narrows so quickly from 4 lanes back to 2.

Some of the biggest traffic jams occur around that bridge between OS and OL because that's really the only convenient way to cross the river south of East Haddam (20+ minutes to the North on Route 9, and then backroads once you cross). There really should be a second bridge there.

Summer weekends can be miserable on 95 as people go to Hammonasset, Rocky Neck and other beaches. I think a 3rd lane would actually help a lot.

The study also says that adding a lane, coupled with congestion pricing, can help to relieve traffic.

Heard state approved 10 Mill for rail line improvement. Article mentions wants to fix train line from Waterbury to Bridgeport. Doesn't the train go from Waterbury to New Haven to Bridgeport?

Hoping they can improve the tracks, add new trains, and build a new station closer to Bridgeport Hospital.

The Waterbury line does not go to New Haven. The trains go into Bridgeport through Milford. Jay

Maybe if Waterbury line improve it can have M-8 trains like wealthy New Canaan. Waterbury suburbs can get taste of FFC

If mass transit does not take people where they want to go, people will not use it.

If you don't have enough people using mass transit you won't have it. Jay

You both miss the point and I'm not going to elaborate.
