Has anyone taken the Hartford-Springfield line? Is it worth it?

I want to just for fun.

This is just one of a number of concepts that has been developed for improving I-84 in Danbury. The tunnel proposal would eliminate a giant curve in the highway’s alignment. It would likely be very expensive. It does not mean this will be selected. Will see. Jay

Go for it. Why not?

Take a day trip into New Haven and get some great food and visit the museums. Stroll around gorgeous East Rock. The State St station puts you right where you need to be.

So with Congressional approval of President Biden’s infrastructure bill, it mean billions of dollars pouring into our state over the next five years. Amount the projects anticipated to be funded and moving to construction are:

- Rehabilitation of the northbound Gold Star Bridge in New London and Groton
- Reconstruction of the I-91/I-691/Route 66 interchange in Meriden
- Widening I-84 in Danbury
- Widening I-95 in Fairfield County
- Design of a new I-84/I-91 interchange in Hartford
- Replacement of Amtrak Railroad Bridge over the Connecticut River in Old Saybrook and Old Lyme
- Track Realignment Metro North New Haven Line in Fairfield County

Not at Union Station. I believe what he meant is to park at a station outside New Haven and take a train to State Street Station downtown. Jay

So my question is: what do the notollsct people do now? It's unlikely the tolls discussion gets brought up again anytime soon right?

Do they keep fighting the good fight for the sake of it or do they slowly drift off and think of something else to fight against? Maybe they can turn their attention to Eversource.

I thought I read a few weeks ago that if this goes through Fairfield County gets 4 lanes on I-95 from Greenwich to Fairfield. That would be AWESOME and what I have been saying for years on here.

Does anyone know if that is still true?

I’m not sure adding lanes is a good idea. I see what they’ve done in greater Miami and greater Los Angeles and by the time they were done adding lanes, traffic had increased and the extra lanes were already congested. Today, in south FL where I am, 95 is between 6 and 8 lanes in each direction. It is now completely filled with traffic.

Focus on mass transit.
