Eggplant. 1 per cup is better than 2.

Hot Peppers before they went in. I never had this many flowers this early!

Only different thing I did was use Osmocote Fertilizer on them. 14-14-14 with a "No Burn Guarantee" back at the end of March while in the smaller cell trays. WOW

Hot Pepper Flowers

Even a Hot Pepper growing. WHAT? Never this early.

Those are root bound. Supposed to break the roots up a bit before planting..... Either tear the ends of the roots or use a utility knife to cut them loose before planting.

Home Depot, it was an impulse buy and I was going to scrap it if they wanted more than $10 for it. It was like $7 if I remember correctly, they also had one for hummingbird type of plants. Comes with some granules mixed with seeds probably some kind of fertilizer or booster. Just broke up the ground with a hand tiller sprinkled by hand, raked in lightly and watered. I'll post on the results, however the garden faired well yesterday so I lost nothing in the rain/wind/damage.

I do go to Agway for most garden items but I was there for something else and noticed it. I tried marigolds last year but they didn’t stay to well.

Agway's kind of out of the way for me, but I do go to Manchester once a week and could swing by if I needed too.

Funny about the marigolds, they are usually bomb-proof (why else do kids grow them lol) but mine didn't do so well last year either. I blamed it on a new-to-me nursery but maybe it wasn't all that. (the rest of their stuff didn't do as well as I'm used to either)

You do what works for you, I would never cut any roots. I simply tickle the bottom (loosen them) but not where they are hanging. I don't like disrupting roots and I've had success just planting as is. They will be fine. No need to cut anything. Look at the vertical structure of the roots. It's only root bound at the bottom. And notice the cup with the 1 plant in it was better.

So pretty funny, I planted everything out and we have 8 days in a row of rain and only 6 hours of sun in 6 days.

May is such a crucial month for gardening/crops. Last year was the worst with clouds, rain, and cool temps. Here we go again with the same. Hope it turns around soon.

Soil is so saturated now.

My potatoes got damaged by wind on the 15th. I need to get some straw and start stacking it against them

As much as I hate constant rain everyday, it is like watching Magic. Way different then watering with our hose. Something about the rain makes things pop.

Fava Beans weren't up 5 days ago.

Bell Peppers and Potatoes. Just need some sun and heat now

I didn't get a pic this morning but I put out my peppers on the deck and noticed the transplants in the garden sprucing up finally. The cucumbers are starting to vine on my trellis' and I'm hoping the new wire layout works well for the tomatoes by keeping them a little more bunched instead of so separated from each other.

So far nothing seeded has broken ground but I'll check this afternoon.

FYI Stihl is having a sale on their 16" chainsaw, $179 marked down to $159. I may go pick one up from the dealer to clear the huge limb in my yard and some other fallen pines from the heavy snows.
