I see it as kind of ironic, if those companies had outsourced their IT departments, and then the offshore people just come setup shop here after American citizens who'd been employed long term were let go.

That said, I don't have first hand knowledge of Stanley outsourcing their IT department, but I have plenty of friends who lost jobs due to outsourcing at the large companies they worked for.

Meh, the in-house tech departments were already on their way out even before the off-shoring craze. Companies saw it as a cost center instead of revenue saver. And now the same companies are seeing the downfalls of hyper-cheap services so are looking for a middle ground of sorts. The whole industry is changing and getting actually less crowded in the SMB field for bespoke services.

And they’re now proposing 270 units in the first phase, up from 245 units and 150 to 200 initially proposed. That’s great news. Jay

In Wethersfield on Silas Deane Hwy there is a new medical facility being built on the site of the old Puritan warehouse furniture store. Not sure what medical group is moving in there.

Also, new apartment building going up in the same area.

Well, Hartford is one more step closer to construction of the first buildings in the massive NoDo neighborhood. Construction could begin this summer. Hopefully the Covid-19 crisis will not stop it. Jay

In what could bring hundreds of workers to downtown Hartford, sun Financial is said to be close to leasing over 53,000 square feet at State House Square. This would be great for the city. Let’s hope they move forward. Jay

That's good for Hartford, but isn't this bad for Windsor?
