Part Of Hartford's Great Comeback

"The all the negative press concerning Hartford, I am going to offer some positive views. My wife and I have been visiting Hartford every week or so due to the ever-growing number of restaurants and entertainment options. Whether we're dining, attending an event or seeing a show, Hartford has become our go-to destination.

Since the opening of CTfastrak we rarely drive into the city, choosing instead to park at a CTfastrak station and take the bus in. The service is quite popular with a lot of people from all walks of life. I can assure anyone who may believe otherwise that the buses are not empty. Ridership numbers do fluctuate from one bus to the next.

Hartford must be doing something right. Not only are the attractions at Adriaen's Landing and elsewhere downtown well attended, but the city center no longer completely empties after the 9-5 workday. A fair number of people stay in town into the evening and many people now reside downtown; their presence is evidenced by increased foot traffic. The city is more alive now than even a year ago, and this vitality is good for the entire region. Hartford is making a tremendous comeback and I am excited to be a part of it."

The author of this letter is from Hebron, yet he drives out of his way to take FasTrak into Hartford? Makes no sense.

New restaurant in Rocky Hill which has received good reviews so far.

OC Kitchen Bar

OC Kitchen-Bar - 16 Photos - Italian - 2399 Main St - Rocky Hill, CT - Reviews - Yelp

I haven't tried it yet. Looks to be an Italian restaurant.

This place is directly across the street from the old Ames HQ.

Lol! Good catch. The letter came straight out of Hartford's PR department.

CTfastrak runs to Manchester and East Hartford. I see their buses all the time around here, even at night. The line runs to Manchester Community College and has stops along Silver Lane and at the commuter lot near I-384. That could be where they pick it up. Jay

I don't think the other cities are big enough to be considered. I will say I thought this list was a bit suspect by some of their rankings, particularly Fayetteville AR ranking No. 3. Really, a small southern city in the middle of no where with few cultural amenities??? Give me a break. Jay

It depends on what criteria is used for defining metro area populations. Hartford metro has 1.4 million people in it. I believe Bridgeport falls under New York City in some definitions. Still metro Bridgeport is not as big, nor is Stamford and not sure about New Haven. Jay
