Hartford may be better off declaring bankruptcy and starting over with a clean slate. There has been so much mismanagement for so long, I'm not sure Bronin can overcome it. And the state is in no position to help out either. But they've got a new baseball stadium. So they got that going for them, which is nice.

Every time there is a new administration in any city, they come in and claim the world is ending. Then when they are in a while, they miraculously are able to turn things around so they are the heroes. I am not doubting the city has its financial issues but honestly I think the new Mayor, who I really like, is already setting things up for the next election. This is called politics. Jay

There is a new hotel going up on Market street. I saw the photos on another site. They already have a couple of floors of steel skeleton rising. I believe it is suppose to be an eight story Candlewood Suites Hotel. Has anyone been by there?

I was in that area this morning. Where on Market Street? By Goodyear Auto Service or down by the Old State House? Maybe it's the new Hard Rock Cafe and Hotel? Though I haven't heard anything on that.

Between the Raddison and the Xfinity outdoor concert venue. On the same side of the street as the gas station. It's right where the pedestrian bridge that crosses I-91.

Definitely not the Hard Rock.

I drove thru Glastonbury today and noticed some activity at an old industrial site. I think it was an old tannery. I looked it up and it's going to be a fairly big complex Conservation Commission Approves Glastonbury Housing, Commercial Project At Former Tannery - tribunedigital-thecourant

Curious to see what the rents will be like.

That's an old article. They've removed the little covered bridge in the past two weeks.

This one is a little more up-to-date and includes estimated pricing: Long-Awaited Construction Begins on Glastonbury Mill Conversion - Hartford Courant
