What this state needs is someone with experience as a leader, that's been in charge of something and had results. Someone who can balance the needs of people and needs of businesses to survive and thrive.

Someone's social views matter, or should matter little. But some are too dumb to realize that. Take Governor Perry. He's ran Texas for a long time. That state is doing well economically. Connecticut needs someone like him and the country needs someone like him.
Texas is very good to businesses, but not so good for their citizens. Businesses are not required to carry workers compensation insurance, the state ranks 39th in education, has the highest rate in the country of people without health insurance, and is among the top 10 for highest poverty rate.

As a gay man, I am concerned about gay rights. I am also concerned about equal rights for any minority. You, yourself, has referred to the huge gap between rich and poor in Connecticut. I own a business in this state. Do you? Do you employee people? I employ 13. I know in the bubble it's hard to believe that a liberal could be an exahulted job creator. I pay ALOT of taxes. Based on your posting history I'm going to surmise I pay a lot more taxes than you do. When GE pays the same tax rates I do, I'll consider their posturing more than sanctinmonious. Till then, I have trouble taking them seriously.

I'm tired of the "poor" billionaires who undercontribute and cry about taxes while the greatest portion of the load is carried by small business owners like myself.

I don't care about your Christianity, or much at all for your constant complaining without any solution besides "cut taxes." I've lived in low tax environments and generally it leads to more poverty, worse access to health care, less education, etc. Every measurement bares this out...

So before you get on your own lectern, pay my tax bill. By percentage stack that up against what GE pays. Then maybe you have a right to complain.... However in reality your just a tool of the oligarchs that are truly what's behind this state and this countries decline. As you scream for lower taxes and less services -- and defend the reprehensible tax avoidance of GE while your local dog groomer pays 5 times the percentage GE does -- your just being manipulated. You're the same as the poor Appalachians who vote republican because their up in arms about the gays, or Obama taking their guns. You're being manipulated against your own self interest. You actually believe that people don't deserve health care due to the inherent value of being human. You can have as much health care as you pay for, right?

Perhaps one day you'll realize.

It's fine to vote Republican. I certainly do on occasion. To defend GE and the like as they more or less rob our country of deserved tax revenue is a consummate example of being manipulated.
You never answered the question. Anyway your post leaves much to be desired, for instance

1. which billionaire does not pay his fair share? I already posted the income tax paid by income level
Top 20% of Earners Pay 84% of Income Tax - WSJ

The bottom 20% gets money back from EITC, the top 20% pays 85% of all taxes. Right now the top 1% pays more than the bottom 90%, yes you read that correct!
The Top 1 Percent Pays More in Taxes than the Bottom 90 Percent | Tax Foundation

So which billionaire isn't paying taxes MLASOFF!!!!! Stop making up BSSS!!!!!

2. Which right are you talking about as a gay man??? Last time I checked you could go get married, my sister did in a church. Hey find a church that will marry you! What you are talking about is filing a joint tax return. Sorry the two aren't the same.

3. Here is a link to the average tax paid by companies in the S&P, it hovers around 30%. Note the median income tax paid by an individual taxpayer is around 7%. What do you have to say about that!!??
The Taxman Cometh: What was the Average Tax Bill for an S&P 500 Company This Year? — FactSet Research Systems

4. No one gives a flying f#**# about the gays!!! Get it MLASOFF?? No one gives a rats butt about your gay agenda!!!!! Stop using your agenda to raise taxes and steal my money! Get it??

Why don't you do some research and educate yourself about the average tax rate of companies in the US, which has the highest corporate tax rate in the world, and the middle class and poor who pay basically nothing.

Lets talk about welfare and the wealth redistribution that goes on in the United States. Lets talk about the state of CT that has basically gone full on socialism.

again you, Jay, OWN IT! You were warned we said higher taxes and higher spending were coming, you can't fall back on gays gays gays. Its all a distraction with you.

You are the ostrich putting your head in the sand. Realize that we hold you responsible, there is no hiding from reality.

You seem hysterical. I can't respond to what are essentially a bunch of nonsequiters.

I would caution you that people have a funny way of determining on their own what they care about.

Renter, I was about as uncomfortable as you appear to be, before I determined to leave. Then I had something to work toward.

It took me two years to research income levels, demographics, and taxes in non-Northeast locations. Visit them to get a feet-on-the-ground reality check. Run analyses on objective merits. Cash out or otherwise remove dead weight. And then go.

Once I got safely over the George Washington Bridge, I literally felt lighter. The 500-lb millstone was gone. It was actually quite remarkable. It was a productive decision in retrospect, on the merits.

Best wishes to you.

You never answered the question, again.

I called you out and you don't have the guts to answer> In reality you have no argument.

I'll leave you with this. CT is a shadow of what it could have been. It could have been an economic powerhouse, it could have had real economic growth.

This potential was destroyed by liberals like you. High taxes and spending destroyed the economy.

NOW OWN IT MLASS.

You asked a bunch of questions. The tone ranged from bullying to hysterical. If you can manage to ask a question like a decent human, by all means, please do so.

1. Why do you continue to vote for Democrats, that support a failed agenda of more taxes and more spending. Why don't you vote for less spending given our astronomical debt?

2. Who is stopping any gay man from getting married. Honestly??? Lets tell the truth here, you go to a church or synagog or whatever and get hitched. Are the police going to arrest you?? No they won't the point is getting married as a gay man isn't illegal. Tell the truth as a gay man, don't lie!

3. No one cares about the gay agenda no one cares about kyle jenner. Its a straw man, to get liberals to pass on addressing the real issues like taxes and spending issues. Why do you continue to create straw men to change the issue. Why don't you ever address the economy/?? Why is it so hard to not lie? Pathetic

4. Do you have any principals? Do you have a single argument? Please make it and I will shoot it down as easily as I have warned about CT's impending doom.

1) I don't vote exclusively Democrat and didn't support Malloy in the past election. Why don't the Republicans run someone electable. You characterization of the Democrat's agenda is wrong. I want to cut spending-- Dramatically. Let's cut the military by one third. Let's end corporate welfare. Dramatic cuts that would amount to a multiple of what we spend on welfare.

2) This has nothing to do with the discussion we're having. I don't understand what point you're trying to make here. If I moved back to Texas I could not legally marry my partner.

3) I don't know what you are talking about or what this has to do with anything. Plenty of people care about equal rights. You don't care, which is certainly your prerogative. I don't know how you take that stance and then indicate you somehow have superior principals.

4) I pretty comfortable with my principals and ethics.

Does anyone think that this new budget, if it passes, will be good for say mass, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

I was just up in New Hampshire and I have to say it was booming. New homes, tons of people, no sales tax and over all a good vibe. i would never want to move there because I'm more conservative and way too many hispsters but it was very nice.

I bet this will help out border states.

I'll probably regret this, but I would love to see how you connect homosexuality with rising taxes. That's a new one I've never heard before.
