However, I did a little more digging and found out that in 1972-73 (which is NYC's least snowiest winter at 2.8" and is the latest they went without measurable, January 29, 1973, which COULD get broken if there's nothing in NYC this weekend and nothing on the horizon as they are still at a T), Philly had NO measurable snow all winter (just a trace overall).

So technically their "latest" is "all winter" and I am still correct that the closest place to us to have had at least one winter without measurable snow is Philadelphia. Wilmington, DE, about 30 miles south of Philly, did have just a trace all of the 1997-98 winter.

I think when looking at first/last dates you only look for the years that actually had something. So like the latest measurable snow would be Feb 3, 1995 there even though they had a year without snow as you mentioned.

I have to check for other stations with no snow stat. Problem is only having 1 or 4 stations per state or short records only. Or missing data.

Would Islip in 2002-03 count?

I think you mean 2001-02 (when NYC had only 3.5" of snow all winter, all in January except for non-measurable), in 2002-03 NYC had 49.3" so I doubt Islip had only a T. I didn't realize this about Islip (I have to start using that site you told me about), you are saying they had just a T in 2002-03 right? I discount things like daily record highs with them since their record only starts in 1984, but because this is least and not most, how long the record is doesn't matter if least is essentially zero. Thanks!

By the way, OKX now has the Sunday night/Monday morn snow back in the forecast again......

Ugh, the source i used had 0 for 2002-03 but I see why now. They use "0" even for missing data and apparently Islip missing data 2002-03.

So using what data they have they never had a year without snow and like you pointed out 2002-03 wouldnt of been 0 anyway. Thanks.

There is a high chance the North Carolina mountains will have more snow for the season than Hartford by next week. Talking about 5" vs 2" something like that.

Maybe even Raleigh before us.

What if a TStorm system comes from the Midwest, a lake effect snow system from the Northwest, and Hurricane Alex from the East meet over CT.
