Not a drop of rain had fallen in North Wilton when I left. Lightly coming down on Metro North.

Not so fast. Today last day of residual heat. Front came through... Time to cool off now.

Jet stream diving down thanks to the Polar Vortex near Hudson Bay. Ridge continues to stay in the SouthWest and Rockies and PLains which gives us the chance here to get these cool shots even though doesn't last long.

85° here and I'm outside not complaining.

4 reasons..

1. Dewpoints in the mid 40s!!
2. There's a breeze
3. I'm just sitting
4. I'm in the shade

Inland will still stretch toward 90 this weekend but I gotta admit, I don't remember a year with humidity this moderate in a long time. 90 with dew points in the 50's is just great as long as your not in the direct sun.

Wait... what? A storm?

NAM places the storm over NYC and NJ Thursday. Why am I surprised at getting a storm?

Typically we get coastals, fronts, or convection in Summer... This storm is like a clipper coming from Canada and the Great Lakes. #AwesomeJune

Wet Thursday coming up but we'll see how much of that rain actually falls

Am I among the few who didn't get anything this morning? I'm in New Britain (06052). I went out to do laundry around 7:35 AM. The streets didn't even look damp, let alone wet. there was some blue sky in the north at that point. It didn't start clearing out big time until almost 10 AM or so.

Also, now that's it's OFFICIALLY summer...enjoy that 8:30 PM sunset in greater Hartford!

Check it out. 24hr Rain total Sunday 8am to Monday 8am. I circled where more than 0.20" of rain fell.

You can draw a line from that 0.42" in NY all the way down to Rhode Island and see the way the storms/rain moved. Only embedded thunderstorms along that line which my circles show well. So was really a hit or miss with the downpour!

Isn't it interesting no heavy rain fell in Southern NY and NYC , and missed the major airports like Hartford and Bridgeport and Islip? Funny. Only Scattered torrential downpours and thunderstorms but some areas of CT got it.

The radar loop I posted showed it the best and this too.

I find it interesting this thread was started 2 days ago and already has 20 replies. Meanwhile this weather thread is dead. The most common conversation starter is talking about the weather with people. Is it that hard to just post your thoughts each day or ask questions? lol

That's probably because the wx is more stable this time of year compared to the winter and spring
