Another day of 80s. Close to breaking record now for the year

Quite a few places has/had record highs below 90 for this date.

BDR's is only 86 (set in 2011, broken today, at their high for the day of 88 right now, surprisingly, JFK with a similar "right on the immediate water" profile was "only" 83 today, their record high was 89 in 1995 and 1972)).

Even LGA's was only 89 (set in 2008 and 1995, broken with a high of 92 today).

ISP, albeit with a very short (1986) record, had a record high of only 83, tied today and set in 2008, 2005, and 1995.

Now some of this is due to all of these places having first recorded weather after the very hot Sept. 14, 1931 (ironically the day before my mother-in-law was born, down to the year, I can just imagine her mother 9 months pregnant on that very hot September day in the Bronx, not many places had A/C yet).

Central Park's record high of 93 was set on that date (they "only" got to 91 today and became the only one of the 6 OKX tri-state major weather stations not to set or tie a daily record today).

EWR was 92 on that day, tied in 2008 (and broken today with an almost incredible high of 94!)

BDL was also 92 on that day for it's record high, it did not break it today, didn't get past 89 and already dropped to 80 (frontal passage? they just had a thunderstom)....that 92 on that map for Hartford was Brainard Airport downtown.

It was nuts! I see we were the lucky ones...

When it rains it pours I guess huh?, gees. 2 rumbles of thunder with lightning then WHHHOOOOOOSSHH. 35mph winds, sideways rain with big rain drops, heavy downpour for 10 minutes... Just checked rain gauge..

0.32" of rain within 15 min. AND... holy wow change in air mass. 88° to 73° within 30 minutes!

Finally rain!!

See why? Come on down!

4:45 map. See that cell entering the CT Pan Handle... Skies were dark gray I knew something was coming

And at 5:15 when it was over us

I'm not good at comparing to another climate. Maybe because there's so many areas on this planet. Only really familiar with the Eastern U.S. Are you talking about the dryness with cool mornings and warm afternoons?

Anyway -- Bridgeport below 60 this morning. 1st time?

Bridgeport hasn't had 2 inches of liquid in 1 day since December 2014

I haven't had 1" of rain in 1 day in a long time.

Euro says Sunday night there may be a chance!

Juicy front finally! GFS on right not impressed but picking up SW CT. Something special about Fairfield county and moisture. Same with snowfalls
