The bad news is, the cold isn't being shown anymore. (bad news for those who need it)

Guess we have to sacrifice cold for rain?

Next Friday the 21st is the storm possibility.
Yep I see those consistent mid 70s back in the forecast.....

While mets look at analogs and predict the future, my gut seems ahead of them... and folklore stuff like Squirrels, ect.

In my experience we never (rarely) go from a well above normal pattern to a cold pattern. Its always stepped down. Meaning we have to be seasonable for a while before it flips to cold.

We have seen the pattern change after Sept 22nd. We have been seasonable with cool and warm normal swings but overall no well above normal temps.

With that said, if my gut is right, November will be the flip to cold and could last. OR.. I've seen flip back to warm after changing to seasonable from a warm pattern. However, using some stuff I am seeing going on with the Polar Vortex and Jet Stream, I feel more confident saying we will be getting into a cold pattern soon rather than back to an above normal pattern. We'll see.

I like 70's BUT when the season (time of year) should be with cooler temps the temperature flip-flop wrecks havoc with ones health.

NOT good!

I was healthier back in the day when the temps were more consistent with the season/time of year.

All indications suggest that this winter will be a "light" la nina year-so about an average temps/slightly below avg. Since I am a snow lover, this is good news!

Tis the "pre" season? Love looking at maps like this.

So looks like possibilities of getting soaked next week still there, the cold air might come after but it's maps like this that get me all excited knowing we are near.

This is showing temps at 4500'. Basically there is a storm off the coast at this time frame which is next Saturday morning and the freezing line is in blue. Problem is the moisture is way too far from it nor was I expecting to see support for snow yet, but it's nice to see it back and close.

Getting closer and closer.
