Lets see how high we can go today..

2pm. Temps....Dewpoints... Heat Index. You can get an idea now if you're not familiar with dewpoints. 60s is very muggy.

Feels like mid 90s in DC and Philly

Actually same temp over CT as Florida today but check out how muggy Florida is. Gees. Now that's Oppressive and Tropical.

5pm temps. Who thinks the recent rains are holding down temps from really getting into the 90s in NY, CT, RI, & MA?

Only low-mid 80s here, forecasted for 88-90.

Hmmm, Dillemma rises again.

Ground Saturated = Cooler temps (harder for heat spikes) but muggier
Ground Dry = Hotter temps (easier for heat spikes) but not as muggy

Felt like it was easier in May to get hot with the same flow.

EWR and LGA got over 90, the other tri-state stations did not (but Central Park still at its high of 89 so it could still get there today). BDR's high 87 so far. BDL's high is at 88 but they are still at 87 so 90 is remotely possible if temps go back up for an hour before it gets dark.

Hit 91 on the way home in Wallingford just now. It's awful out. The kind of heat and humidity that makes you super sleepy.

lol. Could be worse. I'm inside with poison ivy so I'm cool and dry.

Current map. Storms blew up across PA check out the report from Kittanning.

Then check out the dewpoint in Danbury. Tropical. 70°

No storms brewing for us yet. Clear to go for a warm stroll around the block.

10pm.. NYC LaGuardia still 89°F. I'm at 75 with DP of 66 which is a warm and muggy night!
Can't imagine upper 80s. Nuts. Takes forever for them to cool down there.

Pittsfield MA and parts of NWCT are in the low-mid 60s.

Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like summer. Whenever I tell that to people I get the look that I'm absolutely crazy. Who enjoys the feeling of sweaty backs, sticking to chairs, getting 3rd degree burns from your seatbelt, mosquitoes, etc etc.
