Was dusting off some winter links in my folder just now. Forgot about this one..

Snowfall total report maps.

Did Litchfield hills see some snowflakes Saturday??

I see why they shaded into NW CT. There was a report of a Trace of snow so some flakes must of fell.

It's so nice we have people living in many areas and reporting what they see. I hope you all can do the same. Just ask if you're not sure how or where to report your snowfall totals.

Yeah, it's going to depend on timing and some ingredients. Pretty interesting pattern going on. Loving that Vortex over Quebec!

The high pressure system moves offshore Wednesday night. There
should be enough radiational cooling during the first half of the
night to allow temperatures to fall into the 30s, possibly even some
upper 20s, far north and west of NYC. However, during the second
half of the night, clouds increase as a frontal system approaches
from the west. This could limit how cold temperatures get. There
remains some uncertainty with respect to timing of the
precipitation. Some of the models want to bring the precipitation in
between 09z-12z. If this occurs, temperatures should be cold enough
for some wintry precipitation north and west of NYC.

Thu into Fri...
Clipper low pressure undergoing slow cold occlusion process will be
approaching on Thu as the attendant trof gradually shifts toward a
negative tilt. Precip shield out ahead of the occlusion may take
until late Thu to initiate across the W as soundings show a fair
amount of moisture in the lowest lvls that will need to be
overcome.

One other minor note here, there is a slight chance for wintry
mixed precip at the onset early Thu. This is highly dependent on
timing, how efficiently the veering winds are able to scour out
the low valleys, and dynamic cooling potential. It would really
need all these things to line up right (or wrong depending on your
perspective) for this to occur. However, feel it is at least worth
noting here given the cool airmass and low dwpts (wetbulb process)
in place before the precip shield arrives.

A fast moving flow will keep storm systems in the forecast every
other day with very little time for dry weather in between.

The first system arrives on Thursday as a low pressure system lifts
into the eastern Great Lakes bringing a wintry mix of precipitation
to the area Thursday morning which will transition to mainly rain by
Thursday afternoon. Some snowfall accumulations are expected across
the higher terrain Thursday morning where a few tenths of an inch up
to two inches of accumulation is possible
. It will be a windy and
chilly day with highs only ranging from the upper 30s northwest to
the upper 40s southeast.

Precipitation will linger Thursday night especially across northern
areas as the H5 low and associated trough and vort axis swing
through the region. A transition back to snow is expected across the
higher terrain
with some additional minor accumulations possible.
Lows Thursday night will be in the 30s to lower 40s.

The local news is so pathetic. All the anchors are like sheep. "Oh no it's gonna be cold" or "the S word" it's like these people are so clueless that they don't realize lots of people like cold weather and snow. It's today's world of being politically correct all time. Really annoys me. Then you have Ryan H of NBC always trolling when we miss a storm or get above average temps. Can't stand them.

IMO any MSM is so pathetic and irrelevant.

Just look at the POTUS election coverage as an example.

Better getting your weather report from Cambium or an outside the MSM source imho.
