Current radar and metars. The important freezing line at 4500'

Poughkeepsie reporting snow now and Waterbury.

Drizzle on Long Island and NYC and White Plains

It's above normal at the surface and above so they are done with the snow chances.

Still below freezing at 4000 feet above CT

That's why some areas are getting sleet. There is a small layer of warm air filtering in but mostly still below freezing for now.

I just looked at CTDOT's traffic cameras in the Waterbury area and none are showing snow. None in Danbury area either. I also looked at WFSB's weather cameras and there is definitely snow in New Milford. I know they have a camera in Torrington but I could not find it so I don't know if snow made it there yet. Jay

In Wilton was flurrying snow (below 300 feet) then had sleet snow mix in Ridgefield then changed to rain-sleet mix in Ridgefield.

So fun knowing the layers above are changing temperature. Warm air moving in, winning.

This was all about Timing of moisture and warm air.

Currently Danbury, Waterbury, Meriden reporting light snow.

Current temps. Notice closer to the center of the storm... 50s in Western PA, almost 70 in West Virginia there. Whoa!

Cold 30s in CT.

Guys its a modest light snow here in Danbury/Bethel all morning..roofs show light coating along with colder surfaces..impressive up here actually..unexpected. In fact its snowing pretty well right now. 32 degrees too! I am in a bit of a valley..I'll bet the higher elevations in Newtown have some slick road spots.

The harder and steadier it falls, the easier it will stick. CAD in progress (Cold Air Damming) Low level cold stubborn to warm up from the High in Quebec.

New haven and Chester now reporting light snow and I see some pinks in New Haven county, that's heavier precip so some spots its snowing at a good clip now under there.
