I need to find a new forecast site (other than NWS). I liked the 8 day here but ever since they changed the graphics I cant tell when its gonna rain. Are people that dumb? I mean make the rain drops more bold or add more than just one. Gees.

And whats with the cartoon style images. Really? You cant just use a real image of a sun or cloud? Sometimes decisions are so frustrating to see people make.

Rant over.

Enjoy the 60s people! I actually found around 60 to be pleasant so I am enjoying it.

So we have 4 events coming up. Looks like rain to me as of right now

This weekend
Thanksgiving

I appreciate the link! What a fantastic site for all the weather nerds out there. I'm going to add it to my rotation (NWS Boston and NY Discussion, WFSB technical discussion, and this site).

WHOA! Hi-Res NAM says tomorrow afternoon a Lake Streamer with snow squalls streams to SW CT from Lake Ontario. Fun Fun! Lets see what happens. I wouldn't doubt if that happened.

Yup... heads up if you're on the road tomorrow...

What I showed was the latest 12z NAM... NWS NY mentions the 00z NAM from last night which also showed it.

National Weather Service New York NY
944 AM EST Sat Nov 19 2016

Winds increase after midnight tonight behind the cold front with
gusts of 30-40 mph expected. Winds increase out of the W Sunday
and likely will reach advisory levels over NYC/Long Island and
most of NE NJ. Sustained winds of 30-35 mph have been indicated by
MOS at KJFK/KISP/KFOK for the past couple of days. Winds at
950-850 hPa are progged to 35-45 kt Sunday-Monday with steep low
level lapse rates - near dry adiabatic over NE NJ/NYC/Long Island,
as a result gusts of 45-50 mph probable during this time frame.
Across the Lower Hudson Valley and S CT winds probably will stay
just below advisory levels Sunday-Monday with sustained winds of
15-30 mph and gusts of 30-45 mph.

On Sunday into Monday, an upper low will pass to the north, and
shortwaves pivoting around the upper low could bring scattered
rain and snow showers, especially late day Sunday into Sunday
evening, then possibly again out east late Sunday night into
Monday morning. The first of these shortwaves could generate a
quick burst of snow in the higher elevations well north/west of
NYC, with up to an inch accumulation possible. May also have to
watch areas from NYC metro north/west for any lake effect
streamers that manage to make into down into the area per 00Z NAM
Nest forecast.

High temps should be mainly in the mid/upper 40s on Sunday, and
only in the lower and mid 40s on Monday, per a blend of NAM 2m
temps and GFS/ECMWF MOS adjusted upward by 2-3 degrees.

These bursts can put down 1-2" easily and fast

Today, Saturday Nov. 19, I saw a bee on a flowering weed, and shortly afterwards a yellow butterfly flew by - at first I thought it was a yellow leaf, but it landed and I saw what it was. I'm enjoying the warm weather.
