Good Morning.

I have accepted a position in Greenwich. I will need to travel from Greenwich to LGA often, at my own cost. I have researched parking rates at LGA (about $20/day) and I experienced the Conn Limo ($65 each way with tip). I would love to hear that there is a direct train. Does anyone have experience with this route?

Sorry but there is no direct trains to LGA from Greenwich. You are left with CT Limo or driving. Jay

If you don't have a lot of luggage:

Take the Metro-North commuter train from Greenwich to NYC. Get off at 125th Street. Wait in front of the train station on 125th street for the M60 bus. The M60 will take you directly to LGA.

I had no idea either.

Just be careful if you're by yourself - 125th can be a bit sketchy.

Oh, well now that's a horse of a different color. I have been trying to find the most cost effective method of travel from Greenwich to an airport. Unfortunately Westchester airport does not service many areas. I am stuck with LGA or JFK for flights. I thought I would ask the locals and I am so glad that I did. I guess I should be clear that safety is an important factor. Thank you.

If you can go to JFK, here's what to do -
  • Take Metro-North to Grand Central
  • At Grand Central, take 6 Subway to the 51 Street stop
  • Transfer to the E subway and take it to the Sutphin Blvd/Archer Ave stop
  • Once you get off, follow the signs for the AirTrain (you will have to go up a few levels through the faregates and onto the AirTrain platform). This walk takes about 5 minutes and you will need a Metro Card with at least $7 on it for both the subway and AirTrain. AirTrain will take you right through all JFK terminals.

If you have anymore questions, let me know.

125th Street is a commercial street and very busy. It is in Harlem but there has been a lot of gentrification going on in that area. You shouldn't have a problem during the day.

Another option would be to take Metro-North to Grand Central and take a private bus direct to LGA. I think they charge about $10 each way.
