State leaders like throwing barbs at each other like this. TX has done it with CA. It's not uncommon for red state governors to do this to big, blue states.

With that said, I think FL's economy is underappreciated. People act like FL is another MS or AL. It's not - FL is a big state with a big economy. It's not all tourism, wiping the rear ends of old people, Disney, etc. Places like Jacksonville and Tampa Bay have a fairly well diversified economies, a reasonably low COL, and IMO, a high quality of life with warm weather all year round.

If you think CT is only a good place for those that have money, FL blows that away. FLs tax base is nearly entirely based on salestax and if you can afford to live in a communinity (whose entry prices aren't that far off from CTs honestly) that had good schools and private security great, if not the best bet is private education. Its economy is hugely boom bust (does noone remember the recession?) So if that's your thing great, but dont expect your property down there to be a good source of investment liquidity wise.

And if you say CT has no culture but sprawl FL does, not too sure what to make of that.

I would be interested to know the companies that met with him yesterday and today. No CEO/CFO is going to waste time meeting with Governor if they were not a little bit curious.

He is meeting with a lot of businesses though. I give him credit for trying.

...meanwhile while UTc lays off 35, bms is closing and the budget is who knows what . Our governor is in Nantucket on a retreat.
Actually Bristol Meyers Squibb is not closing. They are downsizing their Connecticut operations and moving to a new facility. Still not good. One good thing is that their Wallingford facility could be repurposed to be incubator lab space just like Yale did with Miles laboratories in West Haven and Orange. Lab space is in very high demand.
