LOL, but I agree. Jay

Does anyone else squeeze lemon juice onto their lobster rolls? I'm pretty sure I learned to do this growing up in CA but I got a few "that's interesting..." type of comments when doing this in CT/ME. Did I just encounter lobster roll snobs or did my CA education fail me in this department? Lobster + butter + lemon = makes sense to me!

Spritzing lemon juice on warm lobster rolls (Connecticut style) is very common here, brightens the meat. Don't know why you'd get looks.

But I suspect you are speaking of cold (New England style) lobster salad rolls. At first blush lemon and mayo don't seem to mix. In actuality it's a great combo.

Right! I can see eating it plain, but how can someone prefer mayo to butter??

I haven't tried squeezing lemon, but it sure sounds delicioso!

I live in Hartford County so I'm looking for places closer to there. I won't mind driving 45 minutes or so for a good lobster roll. I travel for good food!!!

I don't know if it's still good (I don't live in CT anymore), but I had some great lobster rolls at Mickey's Oceanic Grill in East Hartford.
