Hi,

I'd appreciate feedback from anyone on Shelton, as a town to buy a home in. I'm aware we could probably buy a good home for about $550-600K, but know nothing about the schools, neighborhood, shopping, community, etc. Have looked nearby in Trumbull & Monroe but homes are much more expensive. Thanks.

I know the schools in Shelton aren't as highly regarded as they are in Monroe and Trumbull. Shelton also has an ugly old industrial area right across the bridge from Derby on Rt. 110. It is only one area, but it is what many people think of when they think of Shelton, which probably doesn't help the town's reputation. The areas near Monroe/Trumbull are very nice, but there are also less desirable areas. Nothing that would be considered unsafe, just not aesthetically pleasing.
