Steelpoint is tiny new neighborhood commercial strip located near Downtown Bridgeport border by I-95 and bridges separating struggling city neighborhoods. Steelpoint is well know for Brass Pro Shop.

Would you renting in at market rate apartments close to Stratford Ave close to Downtown ?

"Gala Fresh grocery store already announced, the site, which is also a waterfront property, will contain a gas station with a convenience store and car wash, a neighborhood mall with small retailers, and the movie theater once planned for Steel Point."

Dave & Buster’s restaurant

"Bridgeport Landing is now in talks with several restaurant operators for a “waterfront, seafood-themed” establishment within the building, Christoph Jr. said."

"First phase of a waterfront walkway, marina and construction of a 35,000-square-foot dock master’s building, which is to include a restaurant and office space."

"The next phase on Steel Point will include roughly 170 market-rate apartments close to Stratford Avenue, said Christoph Sr."

I can't imagine apartments at Steel Point being very attractive to live in, with the view of a giant power plant. That can't be healthy?

It looks like Mayor Ganim is about to announce a developer for the old Lowe's Poli/Majestic Theaters downtown. Exact Capital of New York City is proposing a $300 to $350 million redevelopment of the long vacant property. Details should be released shortly with hopes to start construction next year. I really hope that this happens since the theaters are stunning and have sat way too long unused. Jay

It is official. We will see if this really goes anywhere. Sounds a bit too ambitious to me. Jay
