That's a shame I know a few families who drove as far as parts of Westchester on occasion to see them as a less costly and less stressful alternative to Yankees games. I wonder where they are going to move to?

Why wouldn't they put the amphitheater in Seaside Park and keep the stadium for baseball? And what types of acts are they going to draw, especially with Webster Bank arena right next door and the Oakdale and the Meadows nearby? Seems half baked to me.

Were they not profitable or is the concert venue just more potentially profitable?

Good riddance, Bluefish were crap, just high amateur level with a few over the hill ex major leaguers.
An MLB affiliatied (Red Sox/Mets/Yanks) A or AA with real prospects would have done much better. Especially when big players are on injury rehab assignments.

The Xfinity theater brings in a lot of activities and concerts into the city of Hartford. Less people would go to baseball game in Bridgeport than a concert IMO. The crowds in Bridgeport were a joke, but that's what you get for a 20 year old Minor League team. The hype will eventually end, and the Yard Goats are on the same path unless they keep the fans excited to go by offering more than just baseball. Ganim sees the success of Hartfords amphitheater because over 10,000 out of towners can spend money at local downtown restaurants and nearby Bass Pro Shops. A lousy baseball stadium that brings in 1-2,000 fans at a time doesn't sound as profitable.

However, it is a little weird that they're proposing this amphitheater right next door to the Webster Bank Arena which already does attract concerts. This would certainly affect that Arena and once the Bridgeport Sound Tigers leave, if they ever do, then this arena will probably not last long.

I still don't see a big act going to bpt and Hartford. Too close in proximity. It's already hard keeping up with nyc. Hartford get some extra shows because of its distance but bpt is too close but I think bpt is trying to take from Hartford. That's just imo
