Taxes and mill rates are generally higher in larger towns that offer more services so of course towns closer to Hartford or any of Connecticut's larger cities will be more. Still higher taxes do not necessarily mean better schools though. They are more related to the socio economic make up of the town. Jay

Most of the area's with mill rates above 50% don't have the greatest school's or safest area's FYI.
