NOHRSC Interactive Snow Information

Glengary, WV with the most snow: 42"

That's only a couple more inches than we got in 2013.

I'd say this ranks up pretty high for snowstorms. Hard to compare it to things like hurricanes and tornado outbreaks. Snowstorms just aren't quite as deadly as they once were, and meteorology predictions, even though we still laugh about them, have improved so much in the last 10-20 years.

I agree too. I dont think it was 3 which is "Major". 4 is labeled "Crippling". 5 is "Extreme". They do go by population affected so you never know. Might be extreme considering how much the big cities got. I hope they dont use deaths as part of equation because so much less happen nowadays vs the past.

Maybe they use damage amount in which case the flooding would be a big part of it too.

I think it takes weeks for them to assess everything and file it.

Dan A. posted this map of the totals.

My Family got 16-20" in southern Westchester. One thing I kept mentioning was "this is not your storm north of I-84", Northern CT was never in the game. Southern CT had the wildcard.

But again... It was "that" close to get even higher totals. Less than 60 miles

I've been pretty quiet through this.... My total was 8-9 inches. I am extremely thankful that we did not get what NYC got. Since it was a weekend storm, it didn't bother me much. My sister got stranded in jfk airport and was able to fly out today. I have a friend's in Manhattan that are buried and one in Staten Island that claims to have 31 inches... Yow..... I got that in 2013 and it was hell. All in all not too bad in my area.... Hardly any strong winds and not a ton of snow so I'm pretty happy. Thanks Cam and all the other weather bugs for keeping us up to date... Your forecasts are great!

Preliminary. Ryan Maue shows it would be ranked 4. Crippling. Read the conversation in tweet thread.

Drove back from VT today and I could see the accumulation gradient as I drove. Was on 22 in NY, and accumulation started at Pawling and increased as you went south. Could also see where heavier bands set up, especially in Ridgefield. Go a mile or so and there are noticeably different accumulations. Got home and measured and had 9 inches in Wilton.

I was in East Lyme this morning, and there is no way we got close to 8 inches of snow there. I'd be shocked if it was more than 5"

We got about 5 inches in north Glastonbury. Drove up to New Hampshire today. Strange that a portion of I-495 had no snow. Jay

You nutmeggers know a thing or two about getting buried in snow. Hello Nemo.

My buddy in Enfield got 3", I ended up with 14" in Wallingford. Just drove into work and it looks like Hamden only go about 8"or so. Crazy how just a few miles (literally a 5 minute drive) to work from my house yields such a difference.
