Thanks! I haven't travelled much across the state lately so I kinda missed more Fall pics. I like the fact that I have a folder with "comparisons". Fun to see the changes and sometimes fast

Default Bluff Head Ridge

Little Hiking in Guilford, CT off Route 77. Bluff Head Ridge. This metacomet ridge actually continues northward right to central MA

9am & I was warm before even starting. Was only 55F but felt warmer.

Right from the parking lot it's a steep climb up. Gets your heart pumping right away. Didn't take long before my sweatshirt came off. Short sleeves was fine but long pants felt too warm already..

Notice the Rebars to hold the steps. Pointless IMO since this was the only spot they were in.

I chose the harder trail, the one that stays along the edge instead of the loop which goes into the woods and around.

Don't slip... Lots of erosion going on here with heavy rains.

Didn't bring my regular camera. Only an Apple. I stayed light but ended up using my phone for photos.

Clear skies, sun was VERY warm and uncomfortable.

Cool spot between 2 hills.

Heading up there but very strange I don't remember this area. Did I take a wrong turn?

Umm, definitely don't remember this. Don't look down?

Literally about a foot wide spot between the rock and the drop

Cool Bonsai tree growing on the rocks

See anything? Hint... it's wings are spread out.

How about now... Freeeee!

Someone I know would want to rock climb that from the bottom. I believe it's a 300 foot drop. I can never tell. Not good with vertical distance.

Decided to head back and self reminder... DO NOT STOP on the ledge and twist yourself to do a Panorama. I got dizzy for a second and looking down didn't help.

Easier to stay on the trail because stepping on the rock #1 can lose your balance because the big rock protrudes and you end up trying to crouch down and maneuver around it. So the narrow trail is better. But stupid me I stopped and tried a Panorama

Now its 63°F(17C) so I knew we would warm to 60s. Just felt like it was going to be a warm day.

First Pond Ice of the season here. Hockey soon? Not with the pattern we have for sure.

New Canaan, CT.

Even a couple of non moving brooks got a thin layer.

The deeper or larger ponds do not have anything which reminds us on the perspective of when moving Rivers, Lakes, and even Long Island sound freezes over how deep and powerful the airmass is. .

Thanks. Once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun.
These are all hand held.

usually you need a tripod for night shots because of the slow shutter speed. what did you use?
