I've been to the cape, absolutely love it, but wanted to try a different spot this year. I like the idea of being close enough to visit NY since I have never been before. This is one reason I liked Conn. I do thank you for all of your answers and I will be researching all of them.

Not moving up there RunD1987, just visiting. Hubby is from Niagara Falls and refuses to be up there in winter again .

After visiting Fredericksburg, VA last year, thinking we may have to find a place based on it having a Wegmans . I swear we spent most of our time in that store.

You could visit multiple spots up the coast if you start in NYC.

Check out the wealth in upscale Greenwich, Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, downtown Westport downtown, Fairfield or Milford centers for a lunch or coffee, Guilford and Madison, Old Saybrook to check out Hepburn's estate, Essex, Mystic, Stonington, Watch Hill, Newport. Could even do Block Island. If you had a week that would be a great variety of places.

It was a joke, but I did love Wegmans. We have nothing like it down south.
