he should be trying to lure businesses from NC that may be leery of being associated with being in a state hostile to human rights.

So in other words, our government is more interested in attracting certain businesses from North-Carolina to CT by issuing a state-wide ban due to HB2?

Knowing the current state of high-tax affairs and entry-level jobs economy-wise, it's pretty stupid. How are CT residents at "risk" from visiting North Carolina besides the current political atmosphere no more than they are at risk visiting Texas, or California, or Florida?

Banning travel using state-funds is not of the majority's best of interest and is a result of shadow bane politics. Does this directly affect college students who need to travel to NC for their careers?

What a loser, he did that to Indiana as well. Guess what both states are still doing better than CT.

The last full year of data was 2014, and CT had a poor growth rate of 0.6%. Indiana, however, was even worse at 0.4%. NC was better at 1.4%, but still nothing spectacular, and well below high tax states like NY, California and Mass.

To be fair if every company that threatened to stop spending money in these places made good on that, we might see some real changes to how well they do in the future.

All for show. It doesn't take much to not like NC's law, but the governor is all about himself using these basic issues to look good. Why he hasn't been investigated for corruption is beyond me.

Malloy is laying off lots of state workers. There will be no one left to travel any where and CT can't afford the bus ticket.

What people are saying is that Malloy needs to be worried about this state versus what goes on in other states. His comments do nothing to help every day citizens of Connecticut and merely just play to politically motivated song and dance.

Exactly. I disagree with the NC law, but the travel ban is an empty gesture. And yet calling Malloy out for this nonsense brings out the ad hominem attacks. Nice.

Now you know what will work? The fact that many big, bad, evil corporations have registered their displeasure with the law. Ironic, isn't it?
