Now, I'll be damned if Madison ends up over taking Ridgefield. Ridgefield has better schools, half the crime rate even with 6,000 more people (if this matters at all), closer to train or car to NYC, better mall access, and employment options between Danbury and Norwalk.

Madison is near New Haven and has beaches. I guess that's all a few people need.

If it beat WP, it can certainly beat Ridgefield.

Beautiful small downtown and a lot of gorgeous properties and topography too.

It is definitely hard to beat 'the beach' for many though.

WP has 3 beaches, better schools, a great downtown, and its closer to NYC.. and still lost to Madison.

Sorry to say but I think you are out of luck. I am pretty sure Madison is one of the favorites to win the whole thing. I am predicting a Fairfield vs Madison final.

East Lyme is losing so far Oh well Guilford is also a nice town. Shame to see my favorite town losing though. Lets hope the next voters can keep East Lyme in the tournament, but this is never a good sign. Probably out of luck I'm afraid.

LOL @ crime. 33 vs. 17. Two of the lowest crime towns in the country. Pretty sure the crime differences could be narrowed down to Madison having a very busy state park.

Are the schools really that much different? I'd bet they are pretty close to identical in quality. Both excellent.

Ridgefield does have better job opportunities. Both have beautiful downtowns and historic homes. Madison is quieter with less in-town traffic (except some busy summer months). Madison has 2 large outlet malls nearby which is great for shopping.

North Madison is quieter and more rural than any part of Ridgefield, if that matters to people.

That coast in Madison is stunning. It's not just a matter of having beaches.
