Not a big surprise to most but nice to see some updated polling info for CT.

Clinton, Trump hold strong leads in Connecticut, poll finds

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton both hold comfortable leads in Connecticut ahead of the April 26 presidential primaries, with the GOP front-runner nearing the 50 percent mark among likely Republican voters, according to a new poll.

The Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday shows Trump at 49 percent, with 28 percent for Ohio Gov. John Kasich and 19 percent for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. Five percent were undecided, while 25 percent of those who named a candidate say they could change their mind.

On the Democratic side, Clinton holds a 51-42 percent lead over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Six percent are undecided, with 18 percent willing to change their mind. Notably, Clinton holds a 66-25 percent lead among black voters who are likely Democrats, and a wide lead among women.

Default Another recent poll

Here is another recent polls. I believe these are the only 2 polls that have been conducted since November.

Donald Trump is well-positioned to sweep Connecticut's 28 delegates in the April 26 primary election, according to results from an Emerson College poll released Monday.

According to the statewide poll conducted on April 10-11 of 354 likely GOP primary voters:
  • Trump, 50 percent;
  • Ohio Gov. John Kasich, 26 percent;
  • Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, 17 percent;
  • 6 percent, undecided

The Democratic race is much more tight in the state. According to the 356 likely Democratic voters polled:
  • Hillary Clinton, 49 percent;
  • Bernie Sanders, 43 percent;
  • Six percent, undecided.

Jeb Bush, Ben Carson and Marco Rubio will also appear on the Republican ballot. It will be interesting to see if Ted Cruz loses to any one of them, on a Congressional-district level. Cruz lost to Carson in one New York district.

Cruz does poorly where there is no strong evangelical base.

I think if Kasich wasn't doing so poorly over all, he'd do well here in Connecticut. He seems like a much better choice than Cruz on many level. I still think that for the Republicans nominating Trump is tantamount to ceding the election to Hillary... which is fine with me.

I think the people are speaking and the "establishment" needs to check themselves.

lol. I think they imploded because after trying so hard to stop Trump, it didn't work, and it made them look even worse and made haters of politics hate even more. It truly was disgusting to hear and see. Luckily things quieted down. Romney should take a long walk off a short pier. (haven't hear that phrase since B2TF. lol)

I think you have a point. Trump and Bernie have exposed a nerve-- a large contingent of unsatisfied, angry voters. I think it would behoove us to find out why these people are so angry (I have a theory), and make changes accordingly.

I think it's important to recognize as well that Trump is a conservative phenomenon. But the issues on which he's conservative are a bit different. He's not a vocal opponent of gay marriage. I don't even take him seriously on abortion. He speaks to inequality and the rich not paying their fare share...

I do think the Republican Establishment has a problem of their own making-- Trump is not one of them, because he is speaking to issues that Conservatives have given lip service to for years, but done nothing about-- immigration, for example. I also think the Repubs happily co-opted the tea party movement but didn't provide the teapartiers with any substantial victories. (In fact all the tea partiers got was control of congress-- no legislative victories.)

I think this ends in the general election, however.

Clinton is savvy, and, while far from a perfect candidate, Trump's negatives remain to high to see him making a serious run at the Presidency in a general election.

My best is a Clinton victory around 60-40 in the popular and that she wins 42+ states in the electoral college.
