Seems to be lots of parks in and around Slater Rd in New Britain, we'd like to bring my husband a picnic lunch on sunny days but I can't tell which parks have picnic tables?

We'd consider parks in Newington as well, since we're house hunting in that town, we might as well get to know the parks! Mill Pond's playground is under construction so we'll go there next month when hopefully that will be done. Any other's to try?

Thank you!

I forget whether or not they have picnic tables, but Walnut Hill Park in New Britain is always an option. It's a really nice park in one of NB's better areas (definitely more so than the Slater Road area). It's also a nice neighborhood filled with large Tudor houses and IMO it's good for taking walks around.

A bit further away is Elizabeth Park in Hartford/W. Hartford. This is probably my favorite park and they do have picnic tables. The rose garden isn't ready yet, but the scenery is still beautiful.
