There's a wedding venue in New Haven, Anthony's Ocean View which holds ceremonies right on the beach in the summer and they have about 6 palm trees out there. It's kind of funny and awkward to see. Someone told me at one point the ridiculous amount of money they pay to have them trucked and stored for the cold months...but if you have the funds and like them, I guess why not?

Didn't know there was a thread on this. Here's a palm I saw outside the Healthtrax club in Avon, CT. Wonder if they'll plan one again this year?

I've got my bananas wintering in the basement. Can't wait to get them out into the sun. Tropical plants are amazing. Last year I pulled my banana plant out of the basement and placed it in the sun and it shot up an 18 inch shoot in a couple of hours.

If palm trees are present anywhere in Connecticut I want to know about it!

Call CT Palm! They rent, sell and lease palm trees! They will even plant, remove and store them/ keep them alive in their warehouse for you in the off season if you choose to buy one!

They don't belong in our climate. Just like Magnolia and some other tree types.

My mom in southern NY doesn't mind though..

Even Canna plants with Tropical like foliage needs to be brought indoors. Pain for Beauty?

I started another post before I saw this one, sorry! My windmill palm lived this year with NO protection in Fairfield. It full defoliated, but it is growing again! I wanted to do an experiment. Those suckers are hardy!
