Connecticut one of the safest states in the country - WFSB 3 Connecticut

1) Vermont
2) Mass
3) New Hampshire
4) Vermont
5) Maine
6) Connecticut
7) Minnesota
8) Virginia
9) Utah
10) Iowa

All of New England did pretty well here... the deep south ranked the worst. Now imagine how well we would rank if we could clean up our inner cities?

Agree - if we can see improvements in Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Waterbury, New London and a few others, CT would likely move up the rankings.

They ARE improving. New Haven has had a fraction of the homicides of 2011. Hartford is the only one that can't seem to reduce its crime rate.

According to city-data, Hartford's crime index has improved incrementally every year since 2011.

I'm not surprised by this. CT has always been one of the safest states, and our suburbs usually rank far safer than other similarly sized suburbs outside the northeast. Agreed that our cities need work.

Right, maybe CT can overcome one of the Vermonts on the list.
