Greenwich, Fairfield, West Hartford, Milford, Wallingford

Fairfield gets great reviews for the quality of public education, anti-bullying policies and the Infinite Campus portal.

West Hartford was recognized for the low crime rate, its community policing and Behind the Badge, a citizens’ police academy that brings residents and police together.

Wallingford also made the list for its low crime rate.
“There’s nothing to fear when you live in Wallingford CT. Well, except one thing: Wallingford has the state’s biggest “haun

Glastonbury received an honorable mention, coming in at 35 and Shelton is 42 among 50.

interesting list. I thought it was 50,000 or higher when I saw the towns listed, but they said 10,000 or higher?

Given 10k or higher, I'm surprised Simsbury & Avon didn't make it as their crime rates are generally much lower than the already low West Hartford. Same with Ridgefield, New Canaan, Darien, Wilton, and Westport in FFC.

lol Shelton and West Hartford, but no Darien or Wilton or Westport.
Lists like these a dime a dozen - Im guessing its skewed by whatever criteria they used for "We also looked for unique programs that were kid-friendly"

High income towns and high dollar rents makes it alot easier to keep out the riff-raff.

List is suspect-- NJ way over-represented and many states disregarded. Does New Jersey really have 12 of the 30 best communities in the whole United States? Ridiculous.

Pretty generic. Probably 95% of the state is safe. People should continue to use employment as a factor in determining where to live instead of useless lists.

50,000+ Population would've made sense. 10,000+ no way. There's thousands of tiny towns in the country with nonexistant crime.
