Big deal. Considering that you need $500,000 to buy a hut in Weston, what would you expect. They better be near the top.
There can not be a more superficial way of evaluating a school than by using these stupid rankings.
They seem to do a pretty thorough job of evaluation backed up by hard statistics. Why is this one less valid than the other lists that others have put on here?
We have seen this before and questioned it time and time again.
What annoys me about these rankings are that they include specialty schools and schools that are allowed to pick and choose who they enroll. Of course a school that can pick only from a pool of the best performing students will rank high. They do not have to have to accept or deal with any student they do not want. At least seven out of the top 10 are schools that require being accepted. I am unsure about the rest but wonder about them too. Heck, if say Bassick High School in Bridgeport could do this, it too would rank at the top. Kind of is unfair when ranking. Jay
I always roll my eyes when I see a ranking list that is topped by TJ, which is public in funding only and draws from the highest of the high achievers in the entire country. The ones in the 300-400 range that manage to be on the list despite 15-20+% of students being in poverty? That is something to be proud of.
I think it's pretty reliable ranking, however it not only reflects quality of schools but also quality of students.
I like US News one better, they rank by college readiness, and percentage of students performing well in math and English. Weston and Wilton are in top 10 in CT there as well.
