If there is a contract they have to agree to it. If nothing in the contract with the State on who AAA can help with licenses then AAA cam do what they like.

I read the article twice and this is only going to affect 3 counties in CT.

AAA Northeast has reiterated its decision to stop offering driver licensing services for non-members, despite a threat of legal action from Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.
The company covers Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield counties.

At the end of the article is states

AAA Allied, which has served Hartford, Middlesex, New London, Tolland and Windham counties since 1992, will continue to serve both members and non-members.

Seems silly to me. This will only lead to more business for the offices in the other five counties.

You.should really correct the grammar in the thread title.
TO the OP writer, the way to fix a post, even beyond editing time is to "report" your own post and preface the report that it is a request for a favor, to make an out-of-time edit. Since the "report" links to the problematic post that should do the trick.

Triple AAA? I've heard of Triple A...if that's what you meant.

Why doesn't Connecticut offer on line renewal for plates and license.
In FL we could do it thru State for free or tax assessor for $5.00??

When I renewed my licence in September at AAA at the High Ridge strip mall in Stamford, members such as myself were given priority with a separate check in. After registering, it took only 10 minutes to hand over papers, have my picture taken, and wait for the printed new card. There also was a small fee I paid to AAA, even as a member.

That fee as an AAA member probably went to Hartford.

Malloy is being his usual a$$hole self. What should AAA be forced to serve non-members at the expense of members? It's a private company. Just because the state can't get its act together with the DMV since Malloy appointed incompetent and corrupt political hacks to run it. Now he wants to push the problem off on AAA. Typical of this wretched government that we live under.

I believe the agreement that allows AAA to do this service requires them to open it to everyone. They are being allowed a special service which should not be limited. As an AAA member I have no problem with it being opened to the public. I never have had a problem getting my renewal done quickly. Not sure why they wanted to limit it to begin with. Jay
