.
why?
if someone from Wilton or Weston/Easton, etc. wants to go dine, shop, run errands or whatever, they don't need to get on a highway to do that.

And I agree, LA traffic is way overstated. Don't tell an Angelino that, though - they become very defensive for some reason!
It's overstated here as well. If you need to commute to Stamford from Monroe everyday for work or go to NY/Greenwich/Stamford every weekend for whatever reason then you have issues, but day to day life in lower FFC doesn't revolve around traffic.

Maybe not bopping around town but if they want to go anywhere else in the metro, yes they generally have to take 15 or 95 unless they want to take back roads, sometimes which can take longer...

Do we live in the same Fairfield County? I drive 95/15 everyday in lower county and my day to day life most definitely revolves around traffic.

Many Stamford employers stagger the release of employees because of traffic (not that it helps much). My other half conducts interviews for a large firm in Stamford and HR gives candidates a time to show, and for early morning interviews, they send out a grace period of + or - 15 minutes so a candidate who isn't familiar with traffic patterns isn't caught by surprise. I'd say those two examples mean life in lower FFC means factoring traffic into whatever you do.

I regularly say I live in northern FFC but I actually live between 84 and the parkway (in one of those "forested" towns), so mid-county. I can certainly take back roads to Fairfield, Stamford or Norwalk but it's much easier not to if the highways are clear. Unfortunately for 2.5 hours in the morning, 2.5 hours in the evening, midday for construction work, Saturday morning through afternoon and Sunday afternoon/evening, that's not the case.

I know there are the CT cheerleaders who feel our roads are traffic free, our taxes are low because "it's less here than NY", and our economy is red hot, but I feel they're painting an unrealistic view of the state. The people who have lived in other areas and experienced both are really the only posters who can make a true comparison. Visiting an area for a week does not paint an accurate picture of day to day life anywhere.

yeah, that's what I said, if you have to go to NY/G/S everyday or every weekend then you have issues.
As you probably know by now, my recommendations for inquiries on those places are living close to work as possible, despite the "T" word always coming into play.
Couldn't agree more on the last paragraph.

A good suggestion for any area honestly.
