So it looks like the massive Matrix complex (the former corporate headquarters of Union Carbide) has been sold for a bargain price of $17 million. The buyer plans to redevelop the building into a mixed use complex of office, retail and residential uses. It will be interesting to see how this works. I know there have been other successful conversions of these types of buildings but this one is one of the largest with over 1.2 million square feet of space. Jay

Updated view on process of the new Danbury Transit Hub. Also talks of finally adding service to Brewster Ny by restoring the old track connecting Danbury to Brewster! Cutting time by 40 minutes! Good news.

Good move IMO. The complex itself is too large to be exclusively dedicated to a single use. Mixed use is the way to go. It sits on the same basic parcel that the new Toll Bros development does, so some retail in addition to what can already be found on milltown would be a nice added bonus to that neighborhood. Danbury is also sort of inundated with condos, so possible apartments might be a nice other option.
With the leftover portion dedicated to office space.
