As for repairs, most people are not that handy until they buy a home. Many things are not hard to learn and with the internet, it is now easy to many of the minor repairs yourself. Jay

Hi jay,

Is there any way to find the average expense on utilities on cities such as Trumbull, Orange, Milford, Brandford?

TIA

Check out NACA & there are a few other options out there for first time home buyers to make owning a home more affordable.

The cost of utilities is variable. Depends on the size of the house and the people that live there. I doubt there is much of a difference between comparable Jones in any of these towns. Jay

It's extremely variable. I have a newer house in Milford with good insulation, windows, efficient gas heat, and I pay very little (rarely over $200 a month total). The 1950's house across the street is smaller but I wouldn't be surprised if their utilities are double mine.
