Could anyone in the Stamford or Norwalk fill me in on who offers honest and reliable car repair in the area? It seems like most people in lower Fairfield County can afford to agree to any necessary or unnecessary repairs that most body shops say they need. Are there any places left that will provide quality, honest service?

I'm pretty happy with Craig's Automotive Service on New Canaan Ave in Norwalk.

I always had good luck with Grand Prix Service at 236 Hope Street in Stamford. It's been over ten years since I lived there, so I don't know what they are like now.

LoBalbo Brothers on Camp Avenue in Stamford. They are a well organized body shop that does exceptional work. Their prices are always right on and they stand behind their work.

Hansen Autobody does great work. They are really great at dealing with insurance and do honest work that lasts. They rapaired my car's bumper and the quality was amazing.

If you're looking for a great mechanic, I highly recommend J&R Automotive (Joe and Russ are the owners). We have been taking our cars to them for 20 years. Although we now live in Stamford, we still take our cars there for service. They are very honest, provide expert service and are very reasonable in price. I can't say enough good things about them.

Hey, I met this guy from New Haven who fixed my bumper and painted the bugger for just 150$. Toyota gave me a quote for more than 750$ to perform this.

If you are interested, send me a personal message and I'll share his contact info. He's a cool guy, he's got all the stuff and will probably drive to your place to fix it.

I accidentally met him while waiting at a stop light. Lucky for me, he saw my ravaged bumper on his side view mirror.

Post Road in Darien. His name is Joe. I think it's still Citgo. I'll try to get the address. I moved farther north so I'm not going there anymore but he was a good guy, honest & reliable. Opposite side of church by the park.

If heading towards Stamford on post road in Darien it's past the library and nurseries, right before Noroton road on the right.

Sunoco Ultra Service Center on Route 7 in Norwalk has great service and prices. They are very trustworthy and know what they are doing. My entire family brings our cars there for repair and maintenance. In my experience they are the best around...unless you have a relative who's a mechanic.
