Connecticut has a record number of billionaires now with a record 17. Not bad for such a small state. So much for our state scaring off the wealthy. Jay

Jay remember why most of the Hedge Fund Managers are in CT in the first place? It's because New York City has such high taxes!

Guess what is happening now? All the CT Billionaires are moving to places like Florida.

Please remember the world works by cause and effect.

Herb Chambers (worth about 1.7B) weekends in Old Lyme but claims his main residence in Mass.

Chuck Royce I think is still worth a Billion thou I'm not sure if he still claims Greenwich as home or RI.

Really? The fact that CT of all places has 17 billionaires all located as close the border of NY as possible and that's a defense for CT economic blight? They are here to avoid NY taxes. And as CT catches up, they will move again. Let's not be willfully ignorant.

Where does California stand in all this? Surely there are some .com and famous actors worth millions and billions. Since CA is a big state to average it out, narrow it down to a county or city and compare it to CT then.

In 2015 CA was 13th. In 2015 CT was also #2 so it looks like we are holding steady in millionaires.
These states have the highest density of millionaires

I found this for 2006. In 2006 we were #3 millionaires per capita so we actually are getting more wealth per capita not less.
