I, for one. I like Dan Malloy as Governor. I think he runs the state perfectly fine. Could use a bit more teeth with the labor unions, but all in all I think he's okay.

I guess I'll miss seeing him at the Bishops Corner Big Y

When the next Gov comes in and fails to fix anything are we going to blame them or Malloy ? Connecticut's issues go back until at least 1988.

Definitely this. And it goes even further than that. Jay

Of course they will. The political reality is that doing what REALLY needs to be done in Connecticut will be very unpopular. It's a politician's job to keep their job, so they'll do what is popular instead of what is right most of the time.

Officially, Malloy's decision to not run for a third term has nothing to do with his popularity ratings.

Like I said, officially...

Not sure how long it will take to get things rolling in the right direction, I just feel that Malloy is not he one who would get it done.....glad to see him go. Now, will the next person be any better ?....we'll have to wait and see.

This pretty much describes what I think. I don't think there was ever much of a chance that Malloy would make the changes necessary to get the state on the right track, but his colleagues in the legislature are even worse than he is. Without a deeper change, things are not going to get better for this state. The problem doesn't begin and end with one man.
