I listen to Sebastian in the morning. Obviously he was on Hartford radio for 30+ years. Now he broadcasts online at sebastianuncensored.com

I mostly toggle through 12 XM presets - this has been making 84 eastbound into Hartford moderately tolerable for me for 10 years

Otherwise NPR, or in the Danbury area I can sometimes get WRRV, which is an NY alt/hard rock station

These days I listen mostly to public radio and switch between WNPR (90.5 Meriden) or WPKT (89.1 Norwich) and WAMC (90.3 Albany) depending on geography (Surprisingly, Albany comes in the best!) Shame to say as lame as it is, I do listen to WTIC-FM when I first get up in the morning--I'm really not fond of Gary Craig but the rest of the crew is OK. In the car I toggle among the four above plus 105.9 (The River) and 104.1 (WMRQ)--which is an "alt-rock" station stuck in the 90s. Honestly, there's really not much variety in CT unless you count college radio stations. It seems like most commercial radio stations in CT have a list of 20 tunes they play over and over again. It's really weird to hear the same song at the exact same time each day in the exact same location during your daily commute 2-3 times in a row. I used to listen to Chaz and A.J. but came to realize that they're misogynistic idiots and not worth my time...

Agree re: the variety. I know New Haven has a cool community radio station but the signal is too weak to reach an audience larger than the city limits. I really like 90.5, but I wish there was more of an emphasis on local stories.

I listen to either Vinnie Penn or Tony and Mike on WICC (600 AM on the dial). After 9 a.m. I listen to all-news WCBS880 till 10 a.m. From 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. they have the Opening Bell Report, mostly stock and business news. Then from 10 a.m. till noon, I listen to Mark Simone on WOR 710AM. I am retired, which is why I listen to the radio for so many hours; I have a headset radio I bring with me when I am running errands, taking a walk, etc.
