I would support it if they add 2 constitutional amendments:

1- Right to work
2- Flat tax for everybody, business included. No exemption, no nothing.

The above would obliterate Democrats and hold the line against insanity and suicide these corrupt politicians impose on taxpayers.

I doubt you could pass a flat tax here. Honestly I have no idea how NC passed theirs. I assume it was voter ignorance that allowed a bill raising taxes on 80% of the population to get passed. If we did pass one I would assume it would look like MA with the deductions.

Probably NC doesn't have to worry about the top few taxpayers leaving and cratering the budget.

Read the article closely. Our problem has little to do with the wealthy leaving and more to do with the wealthy holding onto their investments in anticipation of greater gains under President Trump. Big difference. Jay

If the top 25 wealthy people left CT, it would be a revenue disaster. Not the same in NC (or most states).

The tax favored the wealthy the flat tax is like 5% the old top rate was like 7% to make up for lost revenue they cut out all the deductions and EITC. Which means the working poor and middle class picked up the tab.

Kind of a dilemma, isn't it? Tax the rich enough and you risk losing them.

Class warfare and envy are two of the many pillars of Socialism's parthenon, which is having detrimental effect into CT.

CT needs to turn the bus around, away from Socialism and run as fast and hard as it can on the opposite direction. And this is no longer an esoteric discussion.

I don't know if CT is socialist or not. Only know a few thing's. Those that don't make enough money are stuck to the Cities. Where rent rises due to increase in taxes. Buying property your taxed to death paying close to $10,000 on a $100,000 property. Very little affordable housing options outside of the Cities in CT. The Cities budgets are strapped and has a great effect on the resident's within those Cities.

If County Government can lower the Mill Rate by 15 or 20 points I am for a County Government.

If CT can do away with Estate Tax and Income Tax. Create a flat bussiness tax. Raise the sales tax and implement a used sales tax on personal sales outside of the State. Legalize and tax marijuanna. Not tax soda, prepackaged food, medical supplies, or medical services that would be a cherry on top of this.

It's not really class warfare raising the effective tax rate on the majority of your citizens to give a few a cut s a bad idea. Interestingly in NC they realized this now that a number of the state house gop spots are in Jeopardy, so they are adding a very large standard deduction yo make up for it and save their jobs. Something like the first 22k in income won't be taxable under the new plan.

The bigger issue to me s they cut the EIC which is the most effective way we have of getting people to work more and get them self out if poverty.
