Do you realize that NY (where Aetna just moved to) just passed a law that will enable it's citizens to go to state college for free? That takes LOTS OF TAX DOLLARS to do that. I bet CT will have some NY companies moving here because of it. The NY to CT dance back and forth has been going on for decades.

And here is a picture of Cuomo standing with the countries biggest socialist Bernie both grinning ear to ear.

Do you think Rick Scott is going to NY state too? Or maybe MA who also has high taxes and values education.

Come to Florida. We tax you less but you don't get much at all. Besides that, you'll have alligators in your pool and in your lakes, poisonous snakes everywhere you go, 90+ heat with humidity for 1/2 the year, sinkholes in your backyards, lotsa violence, and the worst school systems in the country!

CT does need to cut taxes somewhat but what CT has is much better than anything FL has to offer.

Your statement is true ONLY if you can afford private school, or are in one of a handful of very very expensive towns where the public school system works. The state average isn't very high compared to other states - Average SAT Scores by State (Most Recent)

In Connecticut. the Class of 2016 managed an overall score of 1,497 on the three-part test — 17 points lower than the Class of 2015 and 28 points lower than the Class of 2014.
The slip mirrors nationwide scores, which dropped six points from last year to this year for a combined score — for reading, math and writing — of 1,484.
Average math scores, nationwide, slipped three points, to 508, writing slipped two points, to 482 while critical reading scores slipped one point, to 494.
The SAT test is changing yet again, and has been beaten up pretty badly since the Clinton administration assaults on it in the late 90's. Yet it is the test our state decided to use to measure high school students academic success (well mostly failure, aside from a few towns).

LOL...but you can't.

FL has 90 plus temps with horrific humidity about 8 months out of the year. They're driving around in cars with the A/C blasting and heavily tinted windows.

My dad had a house built in FL about 10 years before he retired on the gulf coast in anticipation they would move there. One of the FL neighbors would call my dad to give him an update and pictures on what was going on at his house. He would say the snakes liked to sunbath on the front lawn. After I heard that and saw the picture I told on parents if they moved to FL they would never see me lol. I HATE snakes and alligators.

My cousins lived on the gulf coast too. Then one time an alligator ran after my uncle near their house. They moved to Tennessee shortly after that. I guess my uncle figured it was easier to outrun a bear.

If it chased him then it's a crocodile. Alligators don't attack people out the blue. Crocks will

Aetna has not moved. They have not even formally said they were moving. Jay

The realty is AETNA is pursuing the hq going. Ct's budget woes, Hartford's bankruptcy discussion, and 43rd rank in business climate mean dozens of states will be talking with Ct corps.

We need our government to get its act together. We lost GE hq-AETNA's has admitted they are likely gone, too. We can bet the other 29 are getting constant offers.

We can no longer bury our head in the sand on this issue, despite it being an uncomfortable topic.

Can he lure the entire legislative staff to Florida too

Have any of you ever seen how creepy Rick Scott is? The way he pops his eyes out without blinking when talking. I can totally picture him as a Nazi SS guard persuading people that they'll be taking a shower instead of being gassed. He has that really eerie vibe.
